YAY! I'm actually writing! I finished with my first round of edits on my "hockey boys" story and now I'm rereading and adding to the sequel to Downpour. Right now it is entitled Whiteout.
From Wikimedia.

Here's a lil tidbit:
John Henry Carpenter’s life as he knew it is gone, but Tyson Montgomery's life could give him a new one. As long as Ty doesn’t kill John first.

How's that work for y'all?

Here's a look at my characters:

Lt. Cpl. Tyson Montgomery (You guys remember him?)
Shemar Moore

Capt. John Henry Carpenter
Kellan Lutz

Markus and Clint (Yes, they're back!)
Unknown model, would love to know!
Chase Crawford

Nurse Eve
Alexandria Deberry

Sgt. Aaron Yorke
Donald Faison

Cpl. Chad Nelson
Ross Lynch

Capt. Angelina Duarte
America Ferrera

So we shall see how quickly I can get this done and off to you all! Pray :D

Money Can't Buy Happiness...but Cupcakes Can Bring It!

My husband is in the military and this week has been difficult and stressful. So, as a way to say thank you, I decided to make cupcakes for the kids at his office who were deemed "essential." Sadly I couldn't make them for those sent home. Too many sent home and so quickly. But I did make some cupcakes and I thought I'd share how I did it.
Super easy!

Pink Lemonade Cupcakes

I thought this up the other day at the grocery.

Strawberry cake mix
Lemon icing (or your fave cream cheese icing and some good Limoncello!)
Strawberry mousse mix
Lemon juice and zest.
Pinked sugar (I just put two drops of red food coloring gel into a bag with a cup of sugar and then shake, shake, shake until pink!)
Cupcake decorating and baking tools as you like.

Preheat oven according to your cake mix.
Mix together your ingredients for your cake and pop it into cupcake tins.
Set the cupcakes to back and turn your attention to the mousse.
Mmmm... mousse. Whip that together, I added the zest and juice of half of a good sized lemon and a dash of Limoncello. Let that freeze for 15 mins and get those cupcakes out of the oven!
When those cupcakes are cooled, use an icing tip to insert mousse into your cupcakes and then you can ice. I make lemon flavored icing with Limoncello, totally your choice. They sell cans of lemon icing.
I use a star tip and use a looooooot of icing. When they're fully iced then I add pinked sugar and you can add pearls or candies. I bet lemon drop candies or lemon margarita sugar would be good too!

And then you get to eat or share!!!! Enjoy friends. Share some love with those military folks who need it :) MUAH!

Making New Friends: DC Metro M/M Romance Group

Little Lion Man and I took a trip to Alexandria, VA today to make new friends and see some great "old" friends from GRL 2011! Can anyone tell me why it's referred to as Crystal City? It should be named Conundrum City. What an weird, wonderful, wacky place!

Things we saw on our trip to Virginia:
Beautiful old buildings. And some ugly ones. Lots of 1970s!
Guy strapping a dead deer to his car roof. No joke. Is this a Virginia thing? Stealing roadkill?
Romance writers friends. SO MANY FRIENDS!
I'm the one with a baby on her head. :)

Freddie's Fabulous Beach Buffet!
Another from Andy, what a great building!

My publisher from ZLoose Id, Treva <3
A Basic Training Grunt Ken Doll!
The Washington Monument ensconced in condom-like blue scaffolding!
A pancetta and mozzarella donut sandwich (ZOMG! SO GOOOOOOOOD!)
A dog in a carrier exactly like Little Lion Man's 0_0
And Marine One flying over the freeway.

Little Lion Man had a great time visiting the ladies and gents and getting passed around :)
LLM sweet-talkin' JJ. She's gonna eat him up with that fork!

Virginia is fascinating and I consider this a busy, well-rounded day!

So what did you or will you do this weekend?

A very important book related question! Via Laini Taylor and Ziri :o)

So this was on Laini Taylor's blog today:
Laini Taylor's blog: Lucky Ziri :-)

Have you read Daughter of Smoke and Bone? No? WTF are you waiting for?! Get. On. It! Such a great book and there is another book that recently came out that I'm sure is just as good and a third in the series planned I believe. I am waiting until the third book is out before I dig in since I'm not patient enough. It's such a great book though that I'm sure all of them are fantastic.

This post begs the question though, "Who would you kidnap from the author to keep the character safe, alive, uninjured, unmolested, or just safe under your pillow?"
What do you guys think? Would you be on Raffe's side fighting? Could you stand up to the senator for Clint? Help Claire get away from Frank? Would you keep Aaron under your pillow? Hide Jake in a kennel? Put Charlotte on life support? Get Jane out of those Moores and into your happy home? Tell Bear and Otter all about the rough waters? Smuggle Katniss out of the Capital? Who would you keep safe from the big, bad author person?

CONTEST ALERT! What should I read?

So I am slowly starting to get back into a routine. Slowly.
Dum, dee, dum...
Being a mom is amazing, but it is seriously the best hardest thing I've ever attempted. Writing a novel in thirty days was NOTHING compared to trying to keep another living person alive who is hell-bent on testing every limit, boundary, gravitational pull, and nerve. Little Lion Man is a beautiful little soul though. I adore every smile he shares with me. He's quite the little charmer.
One week

Two Months
Three Months

Four Months
And today, Five Months. OMG.

So you can see why I've been remiss in posting and writing and editing and well... anything. He's already cutting teeth and trying to crawl and I'm pretty sure he'll be starting Harvard in the fall. I do apologize and I would love your help!

Like Charlie, I like a good book.
Charlie reading Charlie, the Caterpillar

I would love to read something incredible, riveting, can't-put-it-down-fantastic again.

So Tell me, loves!
What do you guys think I should read?

Suggest to me a book that involves my must haves:
1- A HEA. I must have the rainbows and puppies at the end!

2- Angst and laughs. I love a good intense story line and snark is always something I appreciate!
Buhamet, you rock with this animation!
3- Hot boys. I like het and slash. I don't care if it's boys and girls or boys and boys or there are a mix. I love me a hot boy in there and if he's a ginger, even better!

Do you have the book to get me back on the reading wagon?
No really, do!

If you do, I'd love for your to share. And if I pick your book, I'll buy you an ebook, too! Just comment below what book you think I should be reading and why! I'll pick a winner on the 4th!

Thanks for the help and GOOD LUCK!

Kingdom Come from M. Smith. And it's freakin' awesome!

Ever wondered what the second coming or end of days would be like? Ever feel like you're destined for greatness and everyone thinks you're nuts? You might just have something in common with Kerrigan.
Smith takes. Scary bible tale and twists it into an incredible novel that has you flipping pages without fear of papercuts. Kerrigan is a great "anti-maryjane" heroine and I was rooting for her from the start.
I'd call this a serious beach read with some lighthearted snark and hot boy twists.

Here's a little more info:

The world is coming to an end, and "Crazy Kerrigan" has a front-row seat.

Centuries ago, scrolls calling forth the four horsemen of the apocalypse were discovered, sealed until their rightful heirs were born. Now, those scrolls are being opened.

When her small town crumbles during her stay in an institution for troubled teens, eighteen-year-old Kerrigan Monroe is one of the few left standing. She and a handful of other survivors take cover as everything they've ever known is reduced to rubble. When the smooth voice behind a cryptic radio broadcast beckons her to a safe house, she and the others abandon their temporary haven, and embark on a cross-country journey toward refuge.

Upon discovering the identity of the man behind the voice, Kerrigan is smacked with the revelation that he's not the only heir to these scrolls. Now, she must make a choice: join this dark stranger and lead the New World by his side, or fight for what's left of humanity.

Either decision will bring power. Either decision will bring death.

I'm Alive, Kinda :)

It has been too long!
I am so sorry my loves for being away so long! Since last I was online and feelin' fine, I've had a lot of changes.
Downpour is out in the world and doing well. Thank you to all of you who have bought, read, and most of all, reviewed my novel. I have LOVED hearing how much you love Clint and Markus. You guys make me wanna do the happy dance every time you review!
I've been working on the sequel, currently titled White-out, and another story, Opposing Sides. White-out stars our friend Tyson and is set five years in the future. Opposing Sides is a hockey infused love-hate story. Ah, how I love the love-hate :D
I'm living in New England now. It has been an immense change for me as I was an Arizona desert rat and loved it. The snow wore me down but now that it is the spring, I'm really loving it!
I've been laying low as of late. Not because I don't love you guys or not want to write, but because I was busy making this:
Hi. I'm Charlie!
It can be difficult to write when you're doing this:
Being a parent is awesome though and I can't wait to get to do it with Mr. Leon in July. Until then, Charlie and I will keep doing our thing.

Stay tuned. I've got big things coming!!! More posts and great news a'comin'!
